Cowboy Roping

Comic - Cowboy Roping

Author Commentary

I have no idea what part of my brain this came from, but I seem to have managed to pull off a seasonally-appropriate strip.  Happy Halloween, people!

MRS. SHOEBOX'S ASSESSMENT OF TODAY'S STRIP:  *stares* *blinks* *opens and closes mouth* *blinks* ...What?!?

I tried to come up with something for a zombie to say off-camera in this strip, but failed because "brains" didn't really add anything.

Halloween's supposed to be a "wintry mix" here in Rochester, so we haven't really gone all out on decorations this year, but we did throw some "Nightmare Before Christmas" stuff up outside.  The biggest benefit of this is that all we have to do come November 1st is throw a Santa hat on Jack and we're good 'til January.  Disney-inspired decoration laziness FTW!

It's funny because zombie jizz.

Good show. Well done.

Nice variation on the "narrator as character" trope.

My store doesn't carry Zombie Milk in its dairy section. Should I complain?
My only concession for Hallowe'en was to construct a wreath of rubber
snakes and hang it on my door. We have a Gubernatorial election
upcoming with Obama and Clinton coming to town and robo-calls every
15 minutes. Nothing I could do would be scarier.

Is this a deliberate reference, or just a happy coincidence?

(Heh! Sorry, finally processed your comments - clearly convergent humour evolution. Which is awesome. Carry on!)

They should sell zombie milk for halloween. Make it pistachio flavored and green.

My local store is selling Egg Nog already.
I have no reason to believe that it is not rebranded zombie milk.
With a dash of hallucinogenic nutmeg added.
But now I have a question.
Do zombies smell like roast pork when you brand them?

The whole thing is about the surprising virtues of the cowboy, so I assumed he was talking about cowboy milk. YUM-OH!!

Best of all, zombie milk has no need for a "Best Before" date: it expired long before it reached the shelves.

(Great comic, you really got me on that last panel!)

I am becoming more convinced that Egg Nog is actually Zombie Milk (tm) because of its coincidental appearance on store shelves at Hallowe'en. Apparently, the roundups are being conducted earlier now, since Egg Nog used to not show up until after Thanksgiving, and the change is coincidental with the increasing popularity and acceptance of zombies in the popular culture.
